The Outcome
What you leave with
Government contractor registration is not complicated — but it is detail-sensitive. A single mismatch between your SAM.gov filing and your IRS records can delay your registration by weeks. We guide you through each step in the correct order, catching errors before they become problems.
- SAM.gov registration submitted or initiated
- Texas CMBL registration submitted
- Capability statement draft completed
- NAICS code strategy reviewed and finalized
- Contractor readiness roadmap completed
- Opportunity identification process established

Our Completion Commitment
If you complete the required pre-work and do not leave with your registrations submitted and capability statement draft completed, we'll provide follow-up support until those deliverables are complete.
The Session
What we cover
The Opportunity
Government contracts are not just for large companies
The federal government and Texas state agencies spend billions of dollars with small businesses each year — many through set-aside programs specifically designed to give small businesses an advantage. There are small business set-asides, woman-owned set-asides, veteran-owned set-asides, and HUBZone programs that limit competition to businesses that qualify.
The barrier is not competition. The barrier is registration. Most small businesses that could compete don't — because they've never completed the registration process.
This workshop removes that barrier.
This workshop is for you if:
- ✓Existing Texas businesses that have never pursued government contracts
- ✓Business owners who started SAM.gov registration and got stuck
- ✓Businesses that want to expand into federal or state contracting
- ✓Owners who want to understand what certifications they qualify for
This workshop is not for you if:
- ✗Businesses that have not yet formed (start with Open for Business)
- ✗People looking for a course or recorded training
- ✗Businesses already active in government contracting
Could you do this yourself?
Absolutely.
The SBA, SBDC, APEX Accelerators, and government websites provide excellent free information and guidance.
Most people still never finish.
LaunchReady exists for people who want structured implementation, accountability, and a dedicated day to get it done.
FAQ
Common questions
Do I need an LLC first?+
You need a formed business entity (LLC or corporation) with an EIN and a business bank account. If you haven't formed yet, start with the Open for Business workshop.
How long does SAM.gov approval take?+
Submission happens during the workshop, but federal entity validation typically takes anywhere from a few days to several weeks — that timeline is controlled by the federal government, not us. We prepare your submission to minimize the most common causes of delay, and the workshop includes follow-up support while your validation is in process.
What if I already started registration?+
That's common — many attendees come in with a stalled SAM.gov registration. We'll pick up where you left off, diagnose what's blocking it, and get it moving during the session.
Is this only for federal contracts?+
No. The workshop covers both federal registration (SAM.gov) and Texas state registration (CMBL), plus how to find opportunities at the federal, state, and local level.
Is the session recorded?+
Group instruction segments may be recorded for quality purposes. Individual work — anything involving your business's sensitive information — is never recorded or stored.
What happens after the workshop?+
You leave with a contractor readiness roadmap and an opportunity identification process. We also include follow-up email support while your SAM.gov validation completes, so you're not left alone if the government asks for more documentation.
